Hi and a gloat
Hi the woodturners,
I'm Jim from Southern Cali. I am relativlly new to turning been at it for 6 months or so. I have been lurking for a couple of years though. Begin Gloat* I got a stubby...I got a stubby End Gloat* BSEG Picked her up last week s-1000 stubby in perfect condition. Man sure make my jet look like a toy. Jim |
unfortunately your gloat will not compile unless you include the mandatory
gload header, wherein you declare all the variables (like wife's jewelry, children's college fund, etc that are held hostage to the deamon of turning), and also include the required parameter files, such as: { //include expensive chuck (vicmark) //include 220_VAC (new, $$) //DECLARE tool_array (1,1024) //include tool_array //include back_surgery ($$,$$,$$) ** never unload a stubby all alone } and you have to initialize the various arrays { begin while $_in_accound 0 do peruse (catalog(i)) tool_array(i)=tool.buy (catalog(i)) end } only after that, are you ready to discover that the bigger tool requires a blood sacrifice -- BEWARE. and, enjoy the 1000, it's a great lathe. I know this because I have one. bill "Nasty" wrote in message ... Hi the woodturners, I'm Jim from Southern Cali. I am relativlly new to turning been at it for 6 months or so. Bill N:
As one who made his living writing code for many years, I won't comment on your programming style. But, you forgot some things... Since Stubbys laugh at 100 lb + blanks, one needs to find a source of these things. Then one needs to find a way to get them on the machine without a trip (or another trip) to the doctor or chiropractor. Then, one needs to find someone with the room to store those 30" salad bowls and enough friends to eat what they can hold. It never ends... As one who raised 4 large sons, there never seemed to be a shortage of people who can empty 30" bowls of any kind of food. We're glad they still live nearby. Sunday dinners are a large project, and a great joy. Leftovers are, however, scarce. I haven't worked out the economic justification for the large Stubby yet. My wife seems so far unaware that the Jet 1442 in the corner of the shop is a new addition... Patriarch, enjoying the newest addition to the hobby |

so, you're saying that you can do big things with your stubby, right? maybe size DOES'NT matter.. *g* Bill N: As one who made his living writing code for many years, I won't comment on your programming style. We celebrated our 32nd anniversary last week, several days at a very nice place on the Pacific Ocean. She's in a very good mood right now. Hope it lasts a while longer. Patriarch |
