finding stair runner

Can anyone suggest where I can buy stair runner at a reasonable cost? I've
done a search of course - www.stair-carpet-runners.co.uk do them, but their
prices start at £36/metre! They seem to be the only place that sells
conventional (as opposed to materials like coir) runners.

Many thanks

Steve

Hi,

I think you should find your local independent carpet specialist can
do better than that although it will still be scarily expensive.

If you've got turns in your staircase, fitting isn't cheap either.

We opted to buy some normal carpet and get it "whipped" to work as a
runner.
It cost £1/M for the whipping. We couldn't therefore get the nice
patterns proper runners have but it still looks great. Tartan works
particularly well if thats your thing.

Alan.
