Condensation in conservatory wall : drying time ?
Hi
Had a conservatory built (4m x 3.2m) in January the left-hand wall of which consistes of a 6ft high wall with a 30 cm height transome (spelling?) window above with glass roof. The wall is brick with insulation then breeze block then dry lined and skimmed. It has a damp proof membrane etc. Last week a small puddle of water appeared at the base of the wall - do not think it was from water ingress - but from condensation build-up along ridge where transome window meets roof and then seeping down between brick and breeze block. Builder came and fitted and re-sealed transome and checked it all out. My question therefore is given that clearly this puddle was caused by quite alot of condensation - probably now sodden insulation and given the pearmeable nature of breeze blocks - how long should it take for the wall to dry out ? After a week the breeze block at the base of the wall is still visibly damp (can see this as skirting board is not yet fitted) ..... & as yet no reappearance of puddle ! Any advice much appreciated.
