Plastic pipe detector

Hi,

My mate's just bought a brand new house, which has the new plastic
piping for the heating system.

Someone told him you can buy a detector, just like you can for metal
pipes, that can indicate where in the wall this pipe is.
- i.e. so he can avoid drilling into it.

Does such a device exist? If so, where might he get one.
Thanks,

Chris.

Haven't seen one for this purpose, but some of the metal detectors on the
market using magneto-inferometry (or something like that) have a water
detection mode which might work

First off, unless you spend a fortune you won't get a decent detector
for anything, so this whole thread could turn out to be pointless.
If you do want a decent one there was a thread on here in the last few
days that points you to an American supplier, (US ones are the only
ones that will work anywhere near reliably enough to be confident that
it does what it says).
