ARISTON GENUS 30 PLUS Storage Combi

Hi All,
Just a quick note for anybody interested in the Ariston Genus 27 Plus
or 30 Plus.
I believe the 27 Plus has now been superceeded by the 30 Plus. They
are pretty similar as far as I can tell (I'm no expert, just an
enthusiastic DIYer). I noticed on this group there have been posts
about faults with the 27 Plus. I too have experienced the same faults
(ignition errors and repeated shut-downs)with the 30 Plus which I had
installed a couple of weeks ago. My experience with MTS Group, the UK
distributers, has been terrible. IMO they are useless...so be
prepared. These boilers are great....when they work, and unfortunately
at the moment spares seem to be in short supply or non-existent. After
2 weeks of waiting for a replacement PCB, MTS decided (probably to
stop the hassle i was giving them!) to replace the whole boiler.
If anybody would like any further details about the boiler or my
traumas with MTS Group, I'd be happy to share!
J..

I have had a Microgenus and it has been superb. 2 yr guarantee and 5 years
on the plate heat exchanger.

MTS farm out the service of the boilers to another company. Did you deal
with them?

I'd rather have a boiler that works than a long warranty. Each to
their own, I don't like them, I realise not everyone will agree with
me but I'd rather do the job properly.

Mine works. No problems.

Each to their own,

Silly comment.

I don't like them,

And give no logical reason why.

I realise not everyone will agree with
me but I'd rather do the job properly.

What the hell are you on about? You mean you install shoddily? Sounds
about right.

IMM no doubt chooses his boilers from maker's specs and as cheap as they
come, so will need a long warranty.

I think most people would. Should I choose from a cement makers specs?

Not blindly, no. They'd hope to know a bit about reliability etc first.

Should I choose from a cement makers specs?

Only for your winter jacket.

Yes, MTS do contract out their work....I think they just employ the
services of a network of local firms. The people doing mine are not
that local though...60mins drive away. It has been hard work trying to
get things sorted in a reasonable time frame. MTS have been in no
hurry to fix/replace my boiler!
