I have quite a few, both straight and cross-point. You can buy them in sets
at tool stores.

The nearest shed or ironmonger will have them. They live in little
clear fronted blue plastic rectangular boxes. Prices vary on where you
buy them.

On the subject, anyone know where to get sets of just cross head ones, I
buy one or two sets a year, the tips of the cross heads always end up
snapping off or being eroded away, so I have a growing collection of
flat blades.

You can buy them in the market in Canterbury High Street. Or in Alca

Perhaps you should have given directions from a convenient pub.

Of course, the poster could be University of Kent /staff/.

Do they have a psychology department? The original message seems a
little strange and I wondered if it was posted to see the reaction
rather than be a serious question.

Actually, several clues...I can also recognise the IP address. The
University of Kent have an unusually large IP block - 129.12/16 ...

Unusually large? That's outrageous :-)

Haven't the RIPE police asked about it?

Prior possession, probably...we've had the block since we started on the
Internet - circa 1982.

I figured. It seems as thought many of the universities in different
countries that were either previously the UUCP country hub or major
Internet connection point before it became commercial, have /16s

Yes, that's what we were. One of the very early UNIX adopters,
too...July 1976!

I can remember having a UUCP connection to UKC in about 1980.....
The phone bills were quite something.

From where?

(our first connection was a once-a-night dialup from the States; an
ex-student did it from his employer's...)

In the UK. Maybe it was a couple of years later. IIRC, UKC was
offering UUCP dialin access for email and small file transfer at one
point, but wasn't overtly promoting it as a commercial service.
