Low voltage lights and loft insulation question

Sure this has been discussed before but...

Has anyone found a good solution for keeping fibreglass loft
insulation away from a recessed low voltage halogen light fitting?

I notice the 'proper' intumescent downlight covers have dropped in
price recently (now circa £13 from Toolstation) but are there
better/cheaper/easier solutions?

TIA
Rob

Upturned terracotta plant pot over the top, or a bit of boxing in made
from MDF, ply etc.
