Draughtproofing windows.
 

Spcifically duuble-hung, sliding ones. What people call "old fashioned
sash windows".

I've been looking on Mighton's site. I quite like the look of the
plastic parting bead, and the standard weatherstripping, to be installed
in 2mm grooves in the staff bead, the stiles of the sashes, or the front
facing of the boxes themselves. Not at all sure about brush seals
various, I think they will attract dirt and become unsightly very fast.

Any relevant experience?

Disappointed with brush pile, though that may in part be due to the
inept design of the windows. Not very effective draft proofing.

I have double and single sash windows in the upstairs front room. Rebuilt
the double one using new beads with that slide in brush stuff. And added
it to a sash where the two meet. So have a pretty direct comparison of
with and without. If the windows are in good repair and you take care
fitting the new beads I'd say the results well worth it. I'll do the
single one when we finally get spring. ;-)
