Just a longshot this, but before I get mired in Microsoft Support if someone here is familiar with the software and can give me the appropriate guidance I would be very grateful.

In my previous version of Word, I was able to produce drawings using the drawing tools in Word but was able to save the individual drawings as .jpg for use elsewhere. In this version I cannot see how to do that, is it possible or has that ability been removed in improving the software?

Richard

I'm using Word 365. That facility seems to be under: Insert / Smart Art.

One (admittedly clunky) way is:

select the drawing(s) you want
copy
open a new Word document
Paste, Special, Picture (Enhanced Metafile)
right click and save the picture jpg

My apologies to you and Owain for my failure to read the whole thread
before posting and so duplicating his post. Deplorable netiquette. I
shall drink (more) poisonous liquid in expiation.

No worry Robin, two similar answers usually mean its the right answer. Although round here some would expect ritual evisceration at least for such a Faux pass.

Thanks again
Richard

Copy the Word document. Rename it to have the extension .zip. Open the zip and check whether the image files is in there.

..docx is just a zip with several folders and files within. Images such as photos are readily findable.

They might be saved as .png files.

It's been mentioned upthread, but just right click the drawing, and 'save as
picture'?

Just one small point. Why jpg? That image format is for photographs and is compressed and
will create artifacts if you manipulate the drawings, If you can use gif or png (the best
option).
