Heat pumps - top tip.

Don't waste money on expensive air-source heat pumps, just put bottles
of water in your freezer, then when frozen leave them outside to thaw
before popping them back in the freezer.

Even easier if you have an old freezer - take the door off, mount it in
a disused doorway/window with the inside of the freezer facing outwards
and voila!

Not if you are able to turn it around and use it for cooling in the
summer ;)

Neighbour had a phone call from a green salesman asking him if
he had cavity wall insulation. When told he already had it so
didn't need it, the caller changed tack and said if it was more than
30 years old it would be damp and needed to be raked out and
replaced with internal wall insulation. yeah right.
