Default Deaths due to Lockdown

I see estimates are being published (today's Telegraph) of the number
of deaths due to the Lockdown.

They dwarf the deaths due to the Chinese Virus and, roughly, equate to
the wildly exaggerated numbers Prof Pantsdown predicted to gain
attention.

So, had followed the Swedish approach- as some suggested- at worst
we'd be no worse off and, quite probably, better off- certainly in
terms of the economic impact plus we'd have gained the herd immunity
Sweden has.

Well done Prof Pantsdown, the Media, all those who demanded a Lockdown
etc, not to mention the panic buyers with their trolleys full of loo
rolls.

Were it not so bloody tragic, I'd be laughing and saying I told you
so.

I don't have the impression the Swedish approach has been a great success.
Its death rate per million is one of the highest in Europe and the
population has become cowed by their experience into voluntary isolation
and distancing. Like the UK, Swedish care home deaths account for approx
half of Covid fatalities. I wish the Swedes had found a magic formula
which we could learn from it but it doesn't seem so.

Covid deaths per million:
UK 667
Spain 608
Italy 580
Sweden 558
France 462

reached the highest Covid-19 deaths per capita in the world in May. It
still circles around the top, with more than 5,200 deaths €“ five times as
many as in Norway, Finland and Denmark combined. After months of a mainly
one-sided debate, critical voices are mounting. Even Swedens state
epidemiologist, Anders Tegnell, admits to fault."

So Swedens rate / million is lower (excluding France) yet they avoided the
extreme lockdown.

You really didnt think about your post, did you?
