Default Wanted - PIR recommendations, 360 degree outdoors

I want to fit a PIR to a corner of the house so that it will detect
people approaching along either of the adjacent walls. Strictly
that's 270 degrees but I've never seen a 270 degree PIR. :-)

I can't see anything that obviously fills the bill from Screwfix or
Toolstation.

Can anyone recommend something that will do the job and won't cost an
arm and a leg?

Two 180° PIRs mounted back to back and wired in parallel;

Or

CEF also have 300° versions as long as you are prepared to pay a premium price.

Yes, you're right, at first glance I thought this was an indoor PIR
but it's IP44 so should be OK. The reviews are a bit variable but it
might be worth a try.

I've tried a few economical ones over the years but they all seem
to lose sensitivity pretty quickly compared to the Steinel that
they replaced...

Currently got a microwave sensor on another outdoor light, that is
doing very well.

Yes, I was wondering if a microwave one might be more reliable. What
make is the one you've got?

I'll look but it's not 270 or 360 so probly not applicable?

A pair of them.

and won't cost an arm and a leg?

A pair of the Hue external PIRs and the Hue system
is much more trivially programmable with time of day
and light level if you need that, but isnt cheap at all.
Amazon does very decent specials on those tho.

Microwave ones are prone to triggering on heavy rain/snow. The
cheaper ones are all more or less 360deg but with the front
sensitivity higher than rear and flank.

If you want to play with the modules they cost about 85p each from
Aliexpress including postage from China!
