Valuable or Tatt?

I have a couple of "porcelean" vase ornaments - from the clearing of the
loft.

Not sure if they have any value or not. Is ther a site I can upload a photo
to to get an opinion from someone knowlegable?

If it says "Ming", you can be sure it's fake.

(I once saw a "Ming" vase in a pound shop - unfortunately the word was
just on a paper label or I would have bought it as a present for somebody.)

If you take a good photo of them (or any photo, but a good one will
waste less time) , you can upload the photos to Googleimages, and ask Mr
Google "have you seen anything like this?"

Does it have a maker's name or mark on the bottom. If so, look on eBay
for items made by the same mfr to at least get a crude and ball-park
idea of value. Or simple google for the maker. If no maker's mark,
they're probably not worth much. Even if there is a mark, if the items
are chipped, cracked or otherwise damaged, it can seriously affect the
value. Also, your local auctioneer may do free valuations if you take
them in to be valued, with no obligation.

Even if no makers' name, putting a reasonable description into eBay may
well give you a good idea.

I personally feel its best to take them to somebody reputable for valuation.
You can only do so much with pictures.

Yes, but an initial trawl *might* save a trip to the valuer, if it is
something apparently distinctive that turns out to be very common.

In general old vases are worthless if they are mass produced . A fiver
at a car boot sale would be gpod.

If its a ghastly claris cliff POS you might get £70-£200 for it
depending how rare it is

Ther reasl ruiff - old and rare anbd nbice to look at - is unlikley to
be in yer attic

Isnlt there some form of ID on the bottom.
Perhasp a local auction house might give a rough estimate via a photo, but any damage will significanly lower the value.
