Plug for Euronics

Hi guys
Thought I would give our local appliance store a shout out.
Formerly Hanson Electrical of Willerby now Euronics.

Bought a washing machine from them recently and although AO's
headline price was cheaper, by the time you add up delivery and
removal charges and such, Euronics came out the winner.
Great to be able to give local trades the business without having
to price match.

Good product knowledge too.

No connection, just a satisfied customer.

Phil

When I read the title, I assumed that was what the plug was for (the
connection!) ;-)

has AO delivery gone up that much?

When I used them, by choosing the cheapest time of the week the delivery
charge was nominal. I didn't have to compromise greatly to get that

and I had no old equipment for them to take away (though doesn't WEEE
require them to take a like for like item away for free?)

Yes, I've used a couple of their shops in different parts of the country
- and they've both been good and competitive.

AIUI, Euronics doesn't own the shops - they are all independent - but it
provides them with bulk buying power in order to compete with the large
retailers.

I can recommend the one in Boundary Road/Station Road, Portslade, Sussex.
A family firm nearly 100 years old, and the last family member retired.
Now run by the son of a man who has run a very successful similar
business in Brighton for decades.

Very good service and knowledgaeable staff. No connection except the
owner is a former student of mine!

Hills Radio, Portslade.

Used one on Thursday. A pub's griddle had decided that it would only
work on full power. The simmerstat arrived Friday. We could probably
have got it a few pence cheaper on the internet but not next day.
