Default Hot water from combi boiler question

Is the water from the hot taps served by a combi regarded as potable?

What makes it so cloudy? The cloudiness disappears when left to stand.

Usually, but the boiler internals might not be 'food safe' for commercial rpemises.

Probably. It's mains water rather than water that's been standing in an
uncovered tank in the loft, with glass-wool insulation, dirt, bird droppings
(if birds manage to get in through the eaves). I suppose there is the chance
that the heat exchanger in the boiler might allow iron to get into the
water.

Air that is dissolved in it out-gases once the pressure is released as the
water comes out of the tap.
