Broken bits from corded curtain rail
Wehave three curtain nrails in our lounge.
The nylon or plastic moving bits pn one of them has snapped off leaving the curtain hanging off. Where on earth can I find a supplier that might have spares? -- Mageia 5.1 for x86_64, Kernel:4.4.114-desktop-1.mga5 KDE version 4.14.5 on an AMD Phenom II X4 Black edition. |

They change the design every few years, what make is it? Swish?
Often the only option is to make your own bits but after a while the plastic goes brittle. The motor driven ones loose teeth on the gears. I have yet to take the rail down and get the ends off. I couldn't do it while it was up. -- Ubuntu 18.04, kernel 4.15.0-33-generic, Cinnamon 3.6.7 running on an AMD Phenom II X4 Black edition. |

If you google something like "swish curtain track spares" (or whatever your brand is) you may find them. Alternatively try eBay. The difficult bit is working out the right combination of search words. -- Clive Page |

Where on earth can I find a supplier that might have spares? The only place I've found for spares is Ebay/Amazon sellers. There are a few who stock spares/clone replacement bits for a large range of obsolete curtain rails (at a cost). It helps to know the brand of the rail but the Ebay sellers usually have pictures of the parts to compare. In my experience if one plastic bit has snapped it will not be long before another will snap - usually when trying to replace the first bit. Random example of a few Ebay sellers to show the type of seller to seach for . In this case the search was for Swish Curtain https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SWISH-Tra...Mrbte86Nj83rAA https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Curtain-T...V5WyXD9T1J4e1Q -- mailto : news {at} admac {dot} myzen {dot} co {dot} uk |
