Fixing to plasterboard ceiling

Big Wallop has the right idea and I've tried most of the plastics ones. I
find that hanging curtain tracks and plaster board don't mix but I may try
some of the metal fixers next. In our bedroom I had had to secure the
curtain track to the ceiling which is plaster and latt. I tried all sorts
and most pulled out, havein pull cord curtian tracks didn't help. In the
end I went into the loft and looked for the screws poking through and held
blocks of wood down while SWMBO's Dad drove screws in.

Cheers

What's the best way to screw something to a plasterboard ceiling.
Should I
use wood screws and plasterboard plugs or will screws only suffice?

Partly it depends on what it is you are fixing.

Screws themselves won't hold.

No, but in the process of some aeromodelling last week, I discovered
that a ragged hole in balsa could - after a squirt of superglue - be
made strong enough to hold a screw for light use. The thin stuff wicks
into any porous stuff to form a resin/fiber composite. Balsa LDF? :-)

I have yet to try it on plasterboard tho.
