Sewer maps

Next door's sewer has just been cleared out (I'd looked in the manhole and
it was full). The chap from Anglian Water said that the sewers didn't go the
obvious way but had angles and went an indirect route.
He mentioned a site called digdat.co.uk, so I registered, got the map up but
it's not showing the sewers!
Is there any way of getting maps without paying? It seems to me that it's in
the water companies' interest for people to know where there's drainage of
any sort.

Council will also hold copies of plans, have been constantly warned that maps and plans are `indicative only` and that actual in the ground conditions may be different, people fail to update things, don`t build them the way they were designed, ground movement etc.

All the utilities have some obligation to make available the information , but free usually means a personal vist to their offices

You can view maps free of charge at your local council office. (Please contact them directly for access and opening hours).
You can also view maps free of charge at Anglian Water, Osprey House, 1 Percy Road, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire PE29 6SZ ( Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm, excluding bank holidays).
If you require printed versions of maps charges apply.

Or you can say your condsidering digging for some reason and ask that they, any utility, send someone out to mark the tracks as they enter and exit your property, this they are obligated to do for free, across the property is a greyer area.
