adding a fuse can improve the odds of dimmer survival to an extent,
but yes, drying mains halogens are prone to killing the dimmer.

If your dimmer has soft start, the fuse can be a good bit lower rated,
which all helps.

I was thinking about adding an in-line fuse behind each lamp holder
(very fiddly to replace), or one in the back of the light switch
(easier). Ideally of course I'd add a fuse to one slot in the MK
Grid
panel that the dimmer sits in - but all slots are currently in use.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
David.

You forgot to mention whether theyre mains or 12v halogens. The 2 are
quite different animals, and the resulting advice also different.
