Default OT anyone got a recent Honda CRV? any good? any good in snow? downhill?

Been out in a RAV4* today - dropping & picking folk up from various
aborted endeavours - excellent in the snow - even 5" powder on farm
tracks - no real bother!

Also thru desperation with traffic jams came down a little used 1:3
(ungritted since last year) with 5" of snow on it - interesting! but
no accidents nor damage.

*mk2 Rav4 diesel, "full time" 4wd, no low ratio box, ?don't know if it
has a central diff?

Thinking forward to my impending car change :-What are new Honda CRVs
like in general? and in snow? downhill? in the same sorts of scenrios?

I ask as CRVs have the part-time "automagic" 4wd - i.e. they stay in
2wd until they sense slippage then mechanically engage drive to the
rear wheels...does that impinge on how they behave going downhill in
the thick white stuff? The RAV4 system (being 4wd all the time) seemed
to be an asset as all the wheels were geared together all the time on
tricky descents....

Ultimately if I get a new CR-V next, will it do as good a job as a
RAV4 in these dodgy conditions??

If not what else?
