Looking to spend betwenn £100 and £150. Main use - trimming trees and
cutting logs.

Smallest but one Stihl. Though that may be nearer £175.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Keefiedee
saying something like:

I need a petrol chainsaw. Any recommendations?

Get a used Stihl from a chainsaw dealer - great saws.

I asked this question here a few years back... After discussions,
emails, phone calls, etc. I ended up with a Husqvarna from
http://www.chainsawspecialists.co.uk/

It "just works".

However, whatever make you get, do get a spare chain.

Seconded (both Husqvarna and the need for a spare chain)

Also I find the the Dremel chain sharening tool indispensible.

I did manage to buy a Stihl on the internet but I had to do some persuading.

I would also suggest buying whatever you can easily get spares for locally.
