Anyone build a wood framed extension?

Does anyone know if it will meet building regs? Are there any cost
advantages to tradional brick?

Yes, but not on the ground! (loft)

Should do. In fact you can get away with thinner walls as well.

Probably comparable. Depends a bit on what skills you have available etc.
