Do I need a roofer?

Hi,

I need a cowl fitting to my metal flue system on my seven year old
house, but I'm unsure which type of tradesman would carry out this
work. Would I need to get a roofer in, or a builder?

Thanks,

Jon

Try a chimney sweep

Depends on what the flue is extracting. If its gas, then you need a corgi
reg plumber. If not gas, roofer or builder.

A few years ago when I had a gas fire fitted the Corgi guy said I needed a
cowl, he told me what sort and I did get a chimney sweep/aeriel fitter to
fit it. The Corgi guy came back and retested the flue, job done and cheaper
than paying the Corgi guy to do the work.

I would have done it myself but I had a broken leg at the time and did not
fancy the roof work even without the leg in plaster.
