Combi Boiler - no ignition after low water pressure
Hello All,
I have have a gas halstead combi boiler 30/90. My water pressure went down to 0.3 bar and my boiler stopped working. I got the water pressure back to 1.5bar, but now it will not ignite or even spark. It is not the air fan switch. Could this be the thermocouple or a overheat stat switch? If so how can I check this or is there anything else it could be? Thanking you all in advance, Malcolm |

It may be hidden underneath if there is one. I had an old boiler about 6 years ago that had just such a switch, I think it was a reversible metal diaphragm that went *plink* if there was a problem and it needed a hard push on the diaphragm button to reset it back to its original curvature. Of course, this may have nothing to do with your problem! The other thing to try is to 'reboot' your boiler by turning the electricity off for a few seconds then turning it back on again. Andy. Certainly the first thing I do if I have a problem is turn it off and on again, all the lockouts I've had were cured by this. Andy. |

It is easy to do and eliminates one line of inquiry. Andy. |

Hello Andy,
It was the reset switch under the boiler which I would never have noticed. I was all ready to get the professionals out. Hot water at last, thanking you greatly! Malcolm |
