Where can I find this crimp tool?

For years I've had one of these cheap crimp tools, :
www.electricstuff.co.uk/temp/Img_4067.jpg
which is an excellent 'generic' tool for things like molex 0.1 and 0.156" connector housing pins as
well as many other types of similar size.
I want another one to grind down to use for smaller crimps with shorter crimp lengths,, but can't
find one anywhere.
I think mine originally came from the now defunct Electrospeed/Verospeed, and cost about a tenner
The only identifying mark is "Made in Sweden"
Mine is the lower of the 2 in the pic - the other is a very worn one I found in a pile of tools I
picked up at a factory liquidation. Both have the same markings.

I'd prefer a UK source but will look further if necessary....

I've looked at RS, Farnell, CPC and Rapid with no joy - any ideas..?
Even a suggestion of what manufacture of thses things lives in Sweden..?

The Swedish company is Pressmaster and they make crimp tools for many
OEMs. www.pressmaster.com

Wrong sort. That's for pre-insulated crimps (although Screwfix
bizarrely describe it as being for co-ax).

What the OP wants is for uninsulated, or "post-crimp insulated"
terminals. You should find this at RS, but Vehicle Wiring Products are
probably the cheapest and all-round best.

Make sure you get one with a ratchet, not the simple pressed-sheet sort
like the original picture.

And ones that are smaller than the typical automotive ones. I'm talking crimps that end up about
1.5mm dia.

For automotive crimps I'd 100% agree that pressed-sheet tools are useless, but for the small stuff
I'm using I don't need the force of a ratchet, and need to control crimp pressure for different
terminal types so actively don't want one.

I lashed out on their PR3 Ripaults crimper for car stuff and it's truly
brilliant - but no ratchet. It's purely a sprung loaded cantilever design.

Not the one from Sweden, but I have one of these from Amp Inc:

http://i7.tinypic.com/259bj1k.jpg

Might make an alternative if you can't find the Swedish manuf.

Does down to the small spade tags used on trimphones (crimp ends up
about 3/4 of a mm dia.)

Hi,

This'll do 0.1" and 0.156" by the look of it:

http://www.rapidonline.com/productin...duleno=305 35

Should be possible to remove the ratchet if you really don't want it.

cheers,

I get crimp tools and cable accessories in general from
www.thecrimpcompany.co.uk - they specialise in crimping and tools are
excellent quality. The Swedish company you mention may be Elpress whose
tools are available on The Crimpcompany site or go to
www.elpress-uk.com for more information. Would be surprised if you get
a decent quality tool for a tenner though!

Hope this helps.

I've never seen a decent crimp tool on sale in a car accessory shop for
car connectors - let alone Molex 0.1 types. Don't think Draper etc list
one.
