Assuming computer screen and windows, is a screen shot any good?

Press "Print Screen" (or PrtSc) button (which copies current screen to the
clipboard) then paste it into a suitable graphics ready application, like
word or an Outlook Rich Text email.
Also "Alt" and "Print Screen" together just grabbs the active window,
instead of everything.

Alan.

Assuming you computer screen and not a TV.

If you just want a single snapshot of the screen press the 'print
screen' button on your keyboard. this will put an image in the
computer's clipboard. This can be accessed by just opening an image
program, such as Paint, and selecting 'edit' and then 'paste' from the
image programming menus.

The image will only be at the resolution of the screen but perfectly
adequate for web pages and/or including in documents for such things as
instruction manuals etc.

When you see screenshots of programs this is probably the method used
to capture them..

The other way is to have a TV/Video capture card installed in the
computer, plug a camcorder into the card and point it at the screen. ;-)

Capture cards are cheap these days and ebay will get you a decent one for
about 10 to 12 GBP.

using any media players to capture the vid to HD.

You mean buy one of the internet? if so yes.

A TV/Capture card with palmcorder will record it to VHS Video or Using
media player to capture it to HD.

A USB camera pointed at the screen will again capture it to HD along with
media player.

MSN - has an option to log all conversations.
Internet Explorer - has history button.
Game - see the game's instructions or web forums for replay advise.
