I need to replace the copper tubing for my outside unit. Will this be
expensive, A friend tried to solder the leaks in the pipe but, It did
not work.

The pipe probably won't cost much, but getting a specialist in to do the
work likely will. The pipe carries fluids at high pressure and replacing it
is not a DIY job. However, if the copper pipe is failing, I would look very
carefully at the air handling unit and heat exchanger, to see whether they
are not also on their last legs.

These pipes are not supposed to be soldered, they should be brazed.

I guess you will need some more refrigerant too if the current pipe is
leaking?

Due to the tools required and the actual refrigerant needed, this is not
usually DIYable :-(
