sealant on uPVC frame
Does anyone know the best product to remove uPVC frame to brickwork sealant from the frame surface itself ? It was an untidy, rushed job years ago.(not by me).
Also, is there a guide available for fitting your own uPVC replacement windows ? |

Assuming it's silicone-rubber based stuff, there are products like Silicone Eater which act as a solvent for this: http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/sea/searchresults.jsp?_dyncharset=UTF-8&q=silicone+remove&n=&s=0&pn=1&pd=1&pi=1&cn=1&cd= 1&x=0&y=0 However, it's not that wonderful and you definitely need to get rid of the vast majority of it mechanically (ie cutting/scraping with a Stanley knife or something. Their estimate is higher than my supplier. |
