Gas-fired pottery kiln installation

I'm intending to get a Corgi fitter to install my gas-fired pottery
kiln. Has anyone had experience of this? Are there any issues that may
arise that I should know about before finding a fitter? It's not as
though a pottery kiln is the same as a cooker or boiler and they might
balk at it. I've checked the uk.d-i-y archives on Google Groups and
can't see anything relevant.

The installer will need to be qualified in working on kilns rather than the
usual domestic boilers + water heaters + gas fires + cookers, so it won't
do you much good just phoning up people from the yellow pages or corgi's
website. I guess this is quite a specialised qualification so you may be
best off asking kiln suppliers and/or maybe other gas-fired potters for
some names.

Thanks for that. I hadn't realised that there were grades of Corgi
qualification. Do you know if there's there a central register I can
contact to see if there are any suitably qualified fitters in my area,
for example on line, or by telephone?

Try
www.corgi-gas.com
They have a 'find an installer' page.
I'm not sure what certification is required for a kiln, probably
industrial heating?
