Spares for 30 yr old 'Main' water heater?
 

Long shot, but does anyone know what happened to the manufacturer 'Main'? I
have an old Main Nymph water heater fitted in a 1978 caravan, but they were
also fitted in portacabins, narrowboats etc. I need a new water flow sensor
diaphragm for it.

Anyone help me out?

Baxi Potterton now own Main, and still make a couple
of the models. You could try HRPC for spares.
Yours sounds like a specialised version, but if you're
lucky, it will have the same flow valve as some of the
other more common models.

Why replace a perfectly good heater? other than the diapram, theres nothing
wrong with it. i am now fixing a repair so that it will work. the worst
thing that could happen is that it wont work! the diaphramg is part of a
water flow sensor, so not part of any gas fitting, so no danger involved.

house. This old, but sensibly designed water heater has a fail-safe design.
No water flow, no gas flow. (however, the spring in the gas valve may fail,
in which case the failsafe system wont work-but this could just as likely
happen in a new gas water heater.)
