i have got to remove kitchen and utility room quarry floor tiles ( her
indoors wants a different colour ! )
anybody got any tips, is it worth hiring anything or will a lump hammer and
bolster be the best way

Once one is up and you can get the boulster under the edges, job done

Once one is up and you can get the boulster under the edges, job done

Or even your bolster, if the boulster isn't available!

Best to try and see if the lumpy and bolster works first.

If particularly stubborn you could use an flat SDS bolster type chisel
or chipping hammer with bolster etc. This will probably destroy most of
the tiles though, if that is a concern.

I removed some with a chipping hammer a few years back because they were
/amazingly/ well stuck on.

Once one is up and you can get the boulster under the edges, job done

Some of mine were very hard to remove. In one or two places I had to use an
angle grinder, e.g. where a wall had been built over some existing tiles. Made
a terrible mess though.
