Part P notification questions

I have been in discussion with a Project Surveyor of a certain London
Borough with regards to some 'jobs' I need done around my bathroom. I
am suspicious the advice he has given is incorrect (not based on my
opinion, but articles on the web from the ODPM, NICIEC), I would
appreciate some advice.

Do I need Building Regulations approval with regards to Part P. The
Electrical work would be carried comply with BS 7671: 2001, and the
boiler has already been installed by a Corgi Registered Installer. For
each of the following jobs:

- replace an existing boiler in a Bathroom
- replace a Shaver Socket in a Bathroom
- earth bonding in a Bathroom

thanks

No, provided it's like for like replacement. If you have to add anything it
becomes notifiable.

- replace a Shaver Socket in a Bathroom

As above

- earth bonding in a Bathroom

I reckon not, because you're not adding any points, but then again, you are
adding cables in a special location so maybe yes.

See the table on Page 8 of Approved Document P (from ODPM website)
