Default Might be a really stupid question but


Also,
some saws have a flat curved piece of metal just behind the blade which
follows the blade through and clears sawdust from the groove [I *think*
that's what it does, unless anyone knows otherwise?].


I thought it was to help stop the blade binding during deeper cuts - but I
may well be totally wrong!
