Concrete Fence Post ?'s

Looking for some advice re concrete fence posts.

Am thinking of removing 1 or 2 from the back garden of my 1970 Wimpey
home, but am not sure how tall they are likely to be.

The posts are sitting with approx 66 inches above ground level.

I have dug down 22 inches so far and have found neither the bottom of
the post or any ballast/concrete supporting the post.

So how tall is the post likely to be ?

TIA,

KJR

2.75m is not impossible for total length. Longer than this and they
are typically the larger industrial ones.

Nip down to a building suppliers and seewhat sizes they stock. They
shouldn't be that long about 6 ft I think. Maybe the person who set them
was uncertain about siting them. You can cut them down to size with a
disk.

So they may have been buried quite a way.

how deep do you need to have clear? You can smash them quite easily but
if they are reinforced you may need to have a change of disk to cut the
rebar. A hack saw will be just as quick if you don't have a cutter.

I'd dig around one of them a foot or two down then swing about on the
top of it and see if it will move, give you an idea as to how deep
they are and how much concrete is around the base?
