Induction hob cannot be placed over "built under" oven

I am installing a new kitchen and want to place an induction hob over
an electric built under double oven (i.e. built-in oven under the
worktop, hob built into the worktop).

The technical data for the following hob mentions:
"Not recommended for installation above built under ovens".

Apparently this is because the electromagnetism / eddy currents
produced by the hob would interfere with the oven.
Anyone know if this is the case for all induction hobs or if it is
restricted to this particular brand (Baumatic) ?

Cheers,
Chris.

Our induction hob (DeDietrich) is installed above our built-under oven.
The hob instructions said that it was important to ensure adequate
ventilation to the underside of the hob (there's a cooling fan there),
but did not state that installing above an oven was a bad idea.

We've had no problems with the hob or the oven.

I'll second that. My Siemens hob is situated directly above and has had
no problems so far.

Seimens do recommend a higher clearance though if hob is fitted over an
oven. I think the main consideration is one of ventilation.

Thanks for the replies, maybe it's just particular to the Baumatic
brand - best avoided I then suppose !

I've just been researching hobs and stuff, and Neff state that a
worktop depth of 50mm is required when using an induction hob above
their series 2 and series 4 ovens (out of the ones I checked).

However, the induction hob itself details that there only needs to be a
30mm worktop depth above built-under ovens. Also, the series 1 oven
details don't mention any requirement at all, so this is ambigious to
say the least. It may be worth contacting the manufacturer to see if
they can give you more specific reasons for their stated requirements.
