Samsung 32 inch tv Color Changing
I have a Samsung 32 Inch tv and the color shifts around on channels
9 and 14. All other channels are fine. I am a electronics tech but not a TV tech, any ideas. I sent the TV in for warranty repair but they could not duplicate the problem and said it was my cable system. But no other TV has the problem. |

Is this off the air or from cable? I assume this is using the built-in tuner? It could be some form of interference, weak signal, or ghosting. In the US, NTSC color is sensitive to phase shifting, which can happen when a signal bounces off of buildings, mountains, hills, etc.. This causes the colors to shift around. Europe created PAL, which reverses the phase shift on each line (PAL=Phase Alternating Line) which helps cancel out this effect. Can you try hooking up another TV to the same connection to see if it also has the same problem? How about a VCR? -- If there is a no_junk in my address, please REMOVE it before replying! 32" size tv should have been checked IN HOME for the problem.
Honestly though, if the problem is only on one or two non-related channels, odds are very high that it is the cable tv signal getting to the tv set that is causing the issue. I would give the cable company a call as well and have them check the signal going to that specific tv set. Especially the signal level at the sync being provided. If possible connect the cable via the composite inputs to the TV from a
cable box or vcr. See if the same channels exhibit he same symptoms, if so then the problem is probably originating in the supplied signals and not the TV.
