Default peculiar monitor behavior

I have a monitor labled NCR3415-1601. Thjsi has separate
rgb connections and I really (likely) a SONY. When (I think)
the com[puter sens a reset ie the screen clears , the new image
does not apper. Cycling the power does retore the display. Is
there spme SIMPLE thing I can do to fix this. I realize the
CRT monitor are a dime a dozen and this is headed for pastire
to be replaced by a flat panal but I am in the misddle of
a major software-hardware upgrade and I prefer to finish it
before encountering new problems, I realize I can pick up
a replacement on most NYC streetcorners but everthing is so heavy.
Thanks
