Sears twin blade saw reviews??
 

Have any of you guys bought or used one of those Sears twin blade
circular saws with the counter rotating blades? I am sort of
considering getting one of these things, mostly to cut up old pallets
(lotsa nails, etc) with occasional use on pipe, light angle, etc. I
sort of like the concept, not sure I like the fifty dollar replacement
blades.

Just wondering what the sense is from some learned folks who have used
them for a while.

I bought one last fall to cut out the floor of my pickup and cut the
replacement steel I welded in. Worked excellent!
I was A little apprehensive about the control I would have working in
cramped quarters but as long as you use both hands it's darn easy to
control.
I bought mine during A Craftsman's Club sale and they had A promotion
at the time for A free blade set.
Zipped through 3/16 plate like a hot knife through margarine but spits
out A lot of hot swarf! Wear that safety shield!

The big picture on the left is a detail sander. The twin cutter is on
the right side.

Used one to cut some different materials around here. Works good as long
as you don't force it and you remember to use the blade wax with it. The
only real problem is lack of cutting depth. it only cuts a bit under 2".
So it is NOT a general purpose saw. Works nice cutting roof edges and
other mixed material.
