Default Not really OT, but could be considered...

As many of you are smart enough to figure out, I work all day building
drilling machines for our business. I'm looking to maximize our web
presence even more than it is now.

If you have the time, could you visit the two sites below and respond to me
here or preferably privately with the search term you would personally use
if you went to Google or another search engine and wanted to find tools like
I sell?

If I can identify some new terms, I might be able to grab more business,
etc.

Are you considerng advertising wiuth Google?

if you are, it will teach you what people are looking for, great tool.
When you put search terms in and have your ads come up with them, it
will show you the response rate for every term.cool stuff

I'm using AdWords now effectively... But putting in tons of random words
and terms is not as useful as you might think on a low volume site like
industrial sites are... So key "phrases" are what might help me most...

You are 100% right though. Most people benefit greatly from advertising
with them.

When I find a term that works, I can guarantee you at least 2-3 results per
page for my sties.

Ned,

You apparently know your stuff. You ever use a similar unit?

Also, I assume those names are for the AutoDrill units and not the
multi-spindle head site?

I design and build special machinery and have used quite a few Suginos,
up to 9 per machine, for holes as small as .014. Nice stuff. I've looked
at the other manufacturers, but for tiny holes have never found anything
to compete with Sugino. Now that I'm aware of your line I'll certainly
look at it next time I'm in the market.

Also, I assume those names are for the AutoDrill units and not the

Yes, I don't have as much experience with the multi-spindles--Zagar is
the first competitive brand to come to mind there.

Hi Joe,
One other way that seems to boost the chances of your site being
found on some of the search engines is to get as many links to your site as
you can on others sites. It seems to effect where in the displayed listing
your site will show up. The more popular it is ( the more links they find )
the closer to page one you get.

regards,

John

Yes! Very true in many cases. PageRank... Not really sure what the
criteria is for them as it seems folks with high page rank don't always get
high rankings... But I'd be glad to swap a link with anyone out there who
has a site that would at least be related to metalworking, etc. (possible
separate thread!) Any takers?
