Karl..its 248 miles, one way, from my home to Santee, California..or
nearly 600 miles round trip. Whats it worth to you for me to spend
(2) days checking on the shipping of this $500 mill? half a day
driving down, checking on how they are going to close it up...and
another .5-1 day driving back?

Btw...did you see these mills I have available?

Both of course are Sharnoa. Both have their controls. Both are
reputed to run fine, but need keyboards. Everything I moved out of
that shop was in good running order.

These allegedly were rebuilt but never used and there are keyboards
supposedly available from the tech that redid the electronics..but
never returned the keyboards. Both have servos and not..not steppers.

SORRY,

I though you were A LOT closer.

You may or may not know, I refit controls to old CNC machines as a
very serious hobby. I'm locked into NMTB40 tooling, don't want to
change that horse at this point in my life.

This machine includes an NMTB40 tool changer. As common as hen's
teeth.

Chuckle..not a problem. Most folks dont understand just how big
California (and Texas) actually are.

At the southernmost part of my normal service range..Im 85ish miles to
the north of Diego..and I only hit that one client once a year or so.

Nope..didnt know that. Then you would like those two mills that I
posted. One has a NMTB40 tool changer..Im not sure about the other.

$2k..your choice.

Indeed they are rare.

I could be VERY interested. Before getting excited I need to see if it
can get into the basement shop space. Needs to go thru a 7' high door
and then run in a room 7' 8" high to floor joists and 8' 4" between
joists.

I know how this "it only needs a minor thing to run" BS goes. I'm
buying it as a dead machine. Most important thing for the refit is the
servo type. Need to know everything you can find on the servos. Look
to see if it has brushes or is brushless.

Neither machine will fit in a space less than 8' tall. In fact..they
are about ..about 9' tall.

Sorry old friend.

On the other hand...I do know of another machine, with a Fagor control
on it for about the same money that should fit. They stopped using
it when they discovered that their work came out oval while thread
milling..so one ballscrew has excessive backlass for thread milling.
Seems to work fine for linear cuts however.

holders it uses.
