Default Checks !

Spent this afternoon finishing up a gas check maker , from plans I got on
the 'net . I wasn't quite as accurate as I could have been , but it turned
out well and the checks are a nice snug fit on the shank of the slugs I cast
the other day . Next project is going to be a sizing die for those same
slugs , they're a coupla thou oversize as-cast .

It's the one with the slot and the forming pin in the part that sits on
the ram . I still need to pick up a 10-32 flat head screw to hold the
forming pin in place , but it works just swell . I'm using some .010
aluminum flashing from an 8" wide roll . Probably got enough for 100,000 on
that roll ... and there's a roll out there that's 24" wide I got for
covering bee hive outer covers . I doubt I'll ever need any of that one .

Aluminum flashing..thats what I was desperately trying to come up
with...still suffering from that stroke..but on rare occasions
nowdays.

Got a link to the prints? Im way overdue to build one in a dozen or
so calibers. Or build a dozen or so of them .....

I haven't looked at your plans, but drill bits (depending on the quality)
make holes closer to the diameter of their flutes when used as a hand
reamer. For the more common sizes I have a set of on size and over and
under chucking reamers. In the drill press I have to feed very very fast to
not over size the holes even with them. The cost of a cheaper drill press.
LOL. Either of the cheap mill drills do better, but neither has much room
with a reamer hanging down.

For drilling tight holes..one should always use the mill and a short
"swiss drill" , or a precision drill press.

Fortunately..I have all of the above along with other
"stuff"..including reamers from .250-2.5"

Btw..anybody want a couple machining centers? I can get em for $2k
each..YOU have them moved...

How about (2) Jaguer XKEs? Both in original condition..neither has
been started in 15 yrs.

Drill presses, stands, bead blasters, stock, shears, benders, optical
comparitors..and on and on and on....

Ive been closing down a shop for a week and a half..with at least
another week to go. Guy is an utter packrat of the worst sort...
