That's pretty much as good as matches -- although both have a problem in
common; wind resistance.

A Zippo would help in that regard, but then you have fuel, flints, extra
wicks, etc.... So the matches or butane lighters are probably the best.

Indeed they are, But it never hurts to know a data point that
someday..someday may come in handy.

Remember...any dc power source can be used for this. Including a
solar panel....

If you've got enough sun to start a fire with a reasonably sized solar panel, you've got enough sun to start a fire with a much smaller magnifying glass.
