Harding Lathe Spindle Speeds Change VERY slow??
Not sure the exact year but this is the serial i believe : HC 6047 T
having trouble with the motor for the RPM changing very slow, turns very slo up or down, anyone with any clues or ideas? |

Check your belt tension. There should be 1 1/8" pinch ..squeeze the bottom belt on the motor together and there should be no more than a total of 1 1/8" deflection. If there is..lower the motor until it is correct. If it is correct..and still changing slowly....install a VFD and do away with the vari drive. Stick in a 2hp drive from Automation Direct or used on Ebay. Gunner, machine tool repair guy.
