or for your vice-grips locking pliers?

A few drops of 5w30, ATF or whatever is handy, as-needed, on the screw.

I got some spray cans of cooking oil from Walmart for weld spatter control, and find myself also using them to keep things from rusting or putting on rusty bolts that do not turn easily. I use Mobil One or ATF when I think it needs real lubrication.

My wife likes to go to tag sales and I pick up spray cans of teflon lubricant and such when I see them at reasonable prices.

I use the mobil 1 on kurt type vise screws, they get gunked up and stiff
every so often and it seems to be the very best solution.

I use the moly assembly lube on the chick vises, seems to work better on
them, the screw is steel and female thread is anodized 7075

I've tried the teflon obn avarous applications buy it seems to last for a
shorter time, and it also left a sticky residue.

I also use the assembly lube on 40 taper holder shanks, sometimes they'll
stick in the spindle on automatic tool change cycle which is a huge ****ing
hassle...it works like a charm.

I do not think they are very good, but having something in a spray can is sometimes useful.

A waxy film of LPS-3 makes a fairly good lubricant for slow motion
like outdoor rope pulleys, casters and trailer winch shafts. I don't
use it on exposed gears because it collects dust.
