Google and Bing phone calls, Real?
 

I keep getting automated phone calls from Google, Google Plus and Bing
to update my listing "or I will be deleted" I never respond, as they
sound like scams to me. ANyone ever talk to these people? Is it a
scam?

My caller ID had one listed as from "Michael Bing"

I've found google voice, or whatever they call it now to be very useful.
I don't think they bug you if you use it occasionally.
If you have it, keep it. Local phone numbers got scarce really early.

I have never heard of this. They generally send an email or notification in local listing profile but calling users for updating listing sounds weird. For me it's a telemarketing scam.

I get that junk too. They are not "from google". They are scammers who
want you to pay them. I have a bunch of websites and know my way
around google etc.

Oh yeah, I was going to post on the same thing.
I been getting these calls for months, and finally partially bit, took the
call. The first guy was actually a bit helpful, ito classifications, etc.
But then determined that I needed to talk to a "specialist".... ok,
a'ight.....

Man, did dat specialist pound the **** out of me.
And the funny thing was, it was never clear just WHAT they were going to
list!! Me, my company, product....

They wanted $395/mo for google page placement optimization, plain old garden
variety SEO, promising all kinds of ****, but had a "special" going for
$149/mo, which would then drop to $79/mo after 6 mos....

Man, did that strident high-pitched asshole pound me..... and you could
hear the "boiler room" chatter in the background. As someone pointed out,
it is certain that these assholes are not related to google.

He's gonna call me back in a month, to see if I'm ready....

Don't get pounded or hustled.

A call from google and bing for the business owner.
I stayed on the line and it seemed the voice was electronically altered. I said I wanted to know what business listing they were talking about-the lady with a very high pitched voiced said "I'll transfer you." I was disconnected. It is a con game. 100%.

Have had the exact thing happen-- I said I have several Buisness -- what one are you speaking of? The lady said- oh! Let me see! And the phone hangs up.

I do hate the anxiety the message creates! Delete my google listing forever! What a horrible thing to say to someone---

Who is the company that is calling? Can anything done, Im beginning to feel harassed.

Anyone know, or can we get a class action filled against them? This is nonsense.

You will find that they often have Indian accents. Simply put them on
your block list. Goggle does everything via email for us end users.

The IRS does everything via paper mail.

time. The sales people are exceptionally ignorant about search engine
optimization, also.
