Not sure what would be so hard, America claims to be a democracy
(will of the majority prevails), hold a referendum, if it fails then NRA
members can go on killing non gun owners with impunity, if it passes
the gun control lobby can take the guns out of the cold dead hands of
NRA members.

Just think of the boost to the US economy as Al Quaida ploughs millions
of dollars into the pro gun lobbyists - NRA has been far more cost effective
at killing Americans than AQ has ever been, come to think about they are
more effective than the North Vietnamese were in 25 years of war as well.

The economy would take a massive boost as demand for high grade imported
steel from Germany as the gun industry ramped up production to meet the
pre referendum demand. Selling on the high, then offering to buyback on the
low - ideal capitalist scenario.

The only downside to the economy would be for the funeral industry who might
lose 30,000 customers a year.
