Hmmm. 'Never had that problem, but I am a big fan of funnels in general,
especially as my eyes age. g

In my teens I could thread a moderately fine needle a good 18+ inches from
my eyes. Today, I'd need my Optivisor...

I don't try to thread needles without magnification. And I'm thinking about
backing away from the TV and using binoculars. g
