Hint: Individuals don't pay taxes. What happens, is that they are forced
to raise their wage demands, and collect money from employers, to hand
their employers' money over to the government.

Hint: What really happens is that equity owners are forced to pay
corporate taxes from what would otherwise be their profit, and they try to
offset this by increasing profits by charging more for their goods and
services, selling more goods and services, and by reducing the costs of
producing those goods and services. Meanwhile, the tax revenue is all
spent in debt servicing, making more money available for lending and
investment, and in purchasing goods, services and labor, stimulating
economic activity, as well as meeting public needs and wants, so it's not
a total loss.

It's probably not a loss at all. Try running an advanced economy with taxes
lower than ours. No developed country can do it, for good reason: the number
of services and the amount of infrastructure required to keep an economy
like this going is enormous.

When people talk about the government "stealing" THEIR money, I always
wonder how much money they actually would make, without the system we have
that's supported by taxes. Probably much less than they're netting now.
They'd be living in the 19th century, slopping their hogs and plowing with a
horse.

I'd like to see a lot of the various federal spending shut
off. For example, welfare and medical care to illegal border
criminals. That would return a lot of taxpayer dollars to
the tax payers, and would cut the federal debt, by a lot. We
also didn't need the stimulus packages, and the quantitative
easings.

Those actions would reduce taxes, and would benefit the
economy.

I doubt if it would even show up as a tength of a percent, Chris.

Ah, yeah, we did.

No, the latter ones would throw us into a real depression.

Have you ever tried to put numbers on these ideas of yours?
