The sting, called "Operation Talon," focused on fugitives who received food stamps even though they were, well, fugitives from the law. The Sun-Times lists several examples of the captured fugitives whose crimes ranged from vandalism to sheer sadistic. One woman, Sarah Motato, was arrested for scrawling her name into the Bean while another, Christine Williams (pictured right), was arrested for an incident in which she: "allegedly kidnapped a woman, locked her in a room, stripped off her clothes, wrapped a belt around her neck and forced her to crawl like a dog. Williams allegedly held the woman hostage until she paid $300 cash." All fugitives are now awaiting trial from the comforts of the Cook County Jail. http://chicagoist.com/2010/05/03/foo..._168_fugit.php |
