Isn't the truck going through major physical changes ?
I thought it was getting side boxes and stuff.

That's what I get for taking him out of the bit bucket? The little
dickweed runs off to mommy for a week while lying about working?

It figures though.
Another day, another installment in the gummer saga. Supposedly
restricted to posting for a week while waiting for vehicle repairs,
now he says he had access to a vehicle all along. Classic deadbeat
family, too broke to pay bills, but always manages to have stuff they
shouldn't be able to afford.

I thought that gunner claimed to be a mechanic. Didn't he post pics
to a motorcycle that he was restoring a while back? He could have
contracted out any machine shop work to a competent machinist.

It's hard to know if he couldn't do the repairs, or was too lazy to do
them, or both. But since he claims to have a work ethic and "the
knack", he's a phony any way you slice it. Too bad he didn't spend a
bit of the time he wastes here on learning to turn wrenches instead.
He could have saved a bundle and *been* self-sufficient rather than
just BSing about it.

Sounds like it was running too badly to drive, so he called in a
mechanic who hauled it off and diagnosed a bad valve. That's the kind
of repair that I and most of my friends learned to do in our teens. I
can understand that lots of people can't do their own repairs, or
don't want to. But gummer is dead broke and was bragging only a couple
of weeks ago that he had a "knack" for mechanical things. Now it turns
out that uber-survivalist-gummy's idea of keeping his mad max buggy
running after TEOTWAWKI is to dial AAA, just like everybody's granny.

yea yea - but if you lived where he lives and works where he works,
you would want engine in top shape or it might blow climbing a
hill on the way home with the days gatherings.

Stress is the time to break.
